Funeral Service Foundation is receiving dollar for dollar match up to forty-five thousand dollars in 2018
Oct 09, 2018 – Evanston, IL– This year the Funeral Service Foundation is proud to announce that Legacy.com and LOCALiQ are together matching dollar for dollar the first $45,000 in contributions to Fund ’45 between the opening of the National Funeral Directors Association International Convention & Expo in Salt Lake City and the end of the year. This is the fourth year that Legacy.com will be sponsoring a match for Funeral Service Foundation and the first year LOCALiQ, part of Gannett Co., Inc. is contributing.

“Funeral service professionals support and care for our local communities across the country every day as families remember, celebrate and say goodbye to their loved ones. We at the LOCALiQ team are honored to be a part of supporting the future of the profession through Fund ’45 and the Funeral Service Foundation in partnership with Legacy.com,” shared Paras Maniar, President, Local, USA TODAY NETWORK Marketing Solutions.

“Our newspaper and funeral service partners have so much to gain from working more closely together. We are delighted to have been able to bring together our colleagues and friends around this campaign to double the impact for the Funeral Service Foundation,” added Stopher Bartol, CEO and founder of Legacy.com.

“Obituaries honor the life and memory of a loved one, and often play integral role in helping families create healthy, healing memorialization experiences,” said Bob Arrington 2017-2019 Foundation chair. “The Foundation is delighted to have Legacy.com and LOCALiQ’s generous support at Convention this year and look forward to record participation to achieve the full ninety-thousand-dollar opportunity for Fund ’45.”

Established to encourage gifts at every level, Fund ’45 honors the Foundation’s roots and expands its capacity to support funeral service in building meaningful relationships with the families and the communities it serves. Access to education has served as a Foundation cornerstone since 1945. Fund ’45 allows the Foundation fuel the careers of the profession’s leaders, thinkers and doers through the Foundation ’45 Awards. In 2018 alone, more than 250 professionals and students have benefited from the program’s scholarships and continuing education opportunities. Fund ’45 also supports the Foundation’s mission-centered initiatives that make a profession-wide impact, including its newly launched Youth & Funerals Initiative, designed to help families and communities understand the important role funerals and memorialization play in the lives of grieving youth.

Donations to Fund ’45 can be made by using the NFDA app, at the Legacy.com booth #1547, at FuneralServiceFoundation.org, or by visiting the Funeral Service Foundation in NFDA Central. All gifts over $45 will receive a Fund ’45 supporter pin.
