Legacy’s Funeral Service Foundation Donation Match
We had a great time seeing all of you at the NFDA Convention again! This year the convention took place in Boston, MA, over Halloween. For the second year in a row, Legacy partnered with Funeral Service Foundation for a donation match to benefit the Foundation’s Fund ’45 Initiative. The Fund ’45 Initiative helps fund scholarships, outreach and professional development in funeral service.

In addition to helping raise money for the Fund ’45 Initiative, we were excited to show you ObitWriter, a first-of-its-kind tool that helps funeral directors and families easily create obituaries for placement in local newspapers. We built ObitWriter as a free service funeral directors can provide to their families to help write custom obituaries in minutes. Your feedback on the product is incredibly important to us as we continue to improve and perfect the product before we officially launch. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to sign up for a sneak peak of ObitWriter here.
Our Thoughts About the Convention
We attend a lot of events every year, but NFDA is one of our favorites. Jenae Meader, Funeral Home Product Manager, attended NFDA for the first time this year and summed up what made NFDA so special to her, “It was great to see so many funeral directors and how proud of their work they are. I got the sense that their occupation is part of their identity, and it was inspiring to see their commitment to building their professional development and relationships to help better serve their communities.”
Legacy is committed to the profession and serving our customer. We’re continuing to add products and that help support funeral directors as they continue to grow the funeral service industry and better serve their families.
Thanks for another great NFDA. We enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends. We’re already looking forward to next year’s convention in Salt Lake City, Utah!
