This Memorial Day, anyone can honor any service member with a free online memorial.

Chicago, IL (May 11, 2021) – Legacy.com is pleased to announce the successful launch of a new relationship with the Military Times that offers families a free way to honor and share their veteran’s lifestory.

Powered in partnership with iPublish Media Solutions and Legacy, the new Military Times obituary site will offer a free, permanent online obituary of unlimited length for any veteran. Families and friends will be able to upload photos, share condolences in an online Guest Book, and announce service information. A print obituary and enhanced promotion on social media are also available for a modest fee.

“We’re extremely proud to be able to offer this service to our readers. This is another very important way we can honor those who choose to serve in uniform and to memorialize their individual stories for family, friends and future generations,” said Andrew Tilghman, Executive Editor of Military Times.

The new veteran obituary section will become an important part of the Military Times’ Military Honor channel. Other Honor channel offerings include: Salute to Veterans, Military Appreciation Month, Service Members of the Year, Honor the Fallen, and Hall of Valor special content topics.

“When the Military Times sought us out to create a way for military families to celebrate and remember those who have served, with no expense to the family, we were honored to participate,” said Brian Gorman, Chief Revenue Officer of iPublishMedia. “We are proud to do our part to help those who serve our country.”

“Legacy’s mission is to help life stories live on,” said Stopher Bartol, Chief Executive Office of Legacy.com. “We’re honored to partner with the Military Times to support the military community with free tributes for our treasured veterans, sharing their service with generations to come.”

Though all three organizations are pleased to launch this free service in time for Memorial Day, free notices are available for any veteran every day at obits.militarytimes.com. All published tributes are available at www.legacy.com/militarytimes.
