As Mother’s Day approaches, people far and wide are busy ordering flower arrangements, planning surprise breakfasts in bed and coordinating dinner plans, all in an effort to honor their moms. For those who’ve lost a mother or a mother figure, though, the holiday can feel bittersweet. One funeral director pointed out, “On Mother’s Day, every cemetery is filled with visitors. Even the most unexpected men and women visit their mother’s (or mother figure’s) final resting place to cry and mourn… to reflect on how much she touched their lives.”
To celebrate Mother’s Day, we share seven recent condolence messages where users pay loving tribute to those special women in their lives. Join us in remembering all the wonderful mothers who live on in our hearts.
7 Touching Condolence Tributes
“My mother was a complex person who quietly loved her family with all of her heart. I learned so much from her. Even though she can’t be with us anymore, I will include her in everything I do forever. I love you mom, you’ll always be in my heart.”
“More than just a family friend, more like an aunt, or better yet a second mother. With children who are sisters and brothers to me, you always treated everyone like your own. Cindy, there was never a dull moment with you. We all laughed together, and even when we cried together, we still found the gift of laughter through it all. I love you Cindy, the memories we all have of times shared with you will never be forgotten.”
“Dear Mom, we will be saying goodbye to you today, but you will always be with us. Your the reason I have such a good value of life, and not to mention work ethics, you did a fantastic job of loving and raising Cyndi, Ken and I, I am very proud to have called you my mom. I love you.”
“Mom, Too much to put into words. You had unbelievable strength of character to raise 13 children. Thank you for passing your strength onto us. Your memories are many and I will miss the woman you were before you were taken away from us by the dementia. I love you and hope to be welcomed in your arms again along with Dad and our family. Beth”
“Carolyn was a wonderful lady, her door was always open to all. She was, as someone else said, like a second mom to many. I remember sitting many times and talking for hours with her. She always had great stories and advice. I always admired her for raising 9 kids and working while she did it. I wish I could have seen her in more recent years but will always keep the fond memories I have of her. She was a very loving woman with a beautiful soul. Condolences to all her children their spouses and all her grandchildren. May you rest in peace Carolyn.”
“Mom you are a great inspiration to others you shared your life so willingly with others, the joy you brought us will never end and one day we will be together again! Though we miss you we know You are with Jesus and those who have gone on before. Thank you for being a great Mom!! Love you !”
“Mom was my best friend from the first year we met. That is a period of 57 years. In that time, she never said a disapproving or critical word to me. Our time together was peaceful and just plain fun! She loved and cared for me and our family in the best and dearest of ways. She has been, and always will be, a constant joy and the Lord’s great blessing. She so patiently taught me so much. Her motto, ‘things have a way of working out’, sustains me.
I cherished our late night talks, (when she mostly listened to me spill my cares), our fun shopping trips that were never about her, and ‘robe time’, our special term for comfy robes, yummy snacks and favorite TV programs.
She was a joy, she gave joy, and now she is being rewarded with that same joy and peace that she gave to those who loved her here on earth. Thank you Mom, I love you.
Your Judith Anne”
